With 2009 coming to a close, I am reminded of how thankful I am. I look back on this year and smile at how many incredible things have happened. Another year full of laughter, smiles, hugs and memories. God has blessed me in so many ways and I still can't figure out why.
My family had another wonderful year together. Wright is growing quickly, learning all kinds of new things and exploring the world. It's fun to try and see the world from his perspective. We are thankful that he is healthy, happy and very loved. I'm the proudest aunt you will ever meet and adore that child like he is my own. Thank you, Jesus, for such a precious gift. We can't imagine life without him. Thank you to Wood and Betsy for sharing your family with us and allowing us to be a part of his world.
I've met some wonderful friends this year, that I will be forever indebted to. Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I feel privileged to be a part of your lives and I look forward to sharing another fun year with you.
As for T3, you have been a bigger part of my life than I ever expected. What once started as a hobby has grown into a passion. You have challenged me to become a better athlete and a better person. Thank you for always cheering me on and helping me believe that I can go one step further.
On that note, I'm also thankful that I was able to experience Ironman. I learned a lot about myself and it helped me become a more mature and disciplined individual. It also allowed me to realize how supportive my family and friends are. You've heard this many times before, but Ironman would not have been possible without them. Those folks are the glue in my life. Without them, I would be a mess. They continually share their love, wisdom and encouragement without expecting anything in return.
I'm also thankful for a wonderful job that I enjoy. It is called work for a reason, but I feel very blessed to be a part of an organization that I am proud of.
I expect that 2010 will be another fantastic year. I am excited to see what the future holds and am ready to take on new challenges. 2009 really showed me exactly what I'm looking for and what it is that I want out of life. It's a blast to enjoy the blessings that I have already received and look forward to what lies ahead.
Here is to hoping 2010 will be a year full of growth, love, taking risks, rewards, family, friendship, hard-work and laughter.
